Our Conference Hotel is University Place at Portland State University.

A part of Portland State University, this large hotel and conference center surrounds an open leafy courtyard with a central swimming pool. The center lies within Fareless Square in downtown Portland, where buses, streetcars, and MAX light-rail trains are free. Guest rooms are large, feature two double beds and all have balconies. A 24-hour fitness room is free for all guests. Parking is reasonably priced. LV's Uptown Restaurant and Lounge offers fresh Northwest specialties and serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Please mention Society of Animation Studies (SAS) as the group name and the room rate listed below when you call to make a reservation with any of their front desk agents.
We advise arriving Thursday, June 28 in order to attend the Platform Tour of Animated Installations and to attend all Friday events. The final conference session ends on Sunday, July 1 at 5:00 PM. Of course, if you wish to attend the entire Platform International Animation Festival, plan to arrive by Monday, June 25.
Early Reservation Deadline
An early reservation will assure you a room in the conference hotel. Early reservations end May 28, 2007. Reservations after this date will be subject to availability. The room rates listed below will not change after May 28, 2007.
Rooms and rates per night
$79 Double Doubles and Kings
$169 for Jr. Suite
$249 for Presidential Suite
A 12.5% hotel tax will be added to these rates.
Double Doubles are rooms with two double beds.
Kings are rooms with one King-size bed.
Rollaway beds may be requested at $15 per night
All rooms can be shared. Either person can make the reservation. Please inform the reservation desk of the number and names of guests.
Additions to rooms may be requested, as follows:
Refrigerator, $10 per night
Microwave, $10 per night
Internet service, $10 per night
Maximum charge for requested additions is $25 per night.
Check in is at 3:00 PM and check-out is at 12:00 noon on the day of departure. Guests will be asked for proper identification and to present a credit card upon check-in.
Overnight parking is available for $12 per night.
Reservations will be made on an individual basis. Shared rooms may be paid separately by the guests, but please notify the reservation desk of this arrangement upon check-in. Guests are expected to cover all charges during their stay.
